Chicago: Vacation City II Poster by Paul Proehl 24 x 36
The poster "Chicago: Vacation City II" by Paul Proehl was designed in 1925 and is one in a series of transit posters promoting travel on the Illinois Central Railroad, dubbed "the road of travel luxury." This version of it references the 1933 Chicago World's Fair and showcases the site of the fair along the lakefront at the future site of McCormick Place Convention Center. The City of Chicago, with its magnificent lakefront, takes center stage along with a fashionable young woman perched high atop a skyscraper looking south over what is, now, the lakefront from Wacker Drive south. The poster is 24 x 36" in size, overall, printed on heavy white, smooth, paper stock. It will come to you rolled up in a heavy tube, packed inside a rectangular shipping carton to prevent damage in transit.
