Shadowbox Frame for James Beard Award Medallion

Belinda Chang, a well known Chicago sommelier, restaurateur, and author received the James Beard Award for excellence in her field. This award is very prestigious and she wanted us to frame it in an appropriate shadowbox frame . Our framing team leader, Dana Fisher, MCPF, designed a gloss black lacquer shadowbox with a gold fillet on the inside edge of the frame to match the medallion's finish and outline the frame opening. She lined the shadowbox with a Bainbridge 4970 Raw Silk in black. The frame is 7 x 7" inside and was built from Larson-Juhl's Bauhaus gloss black lacquer moulding. She used Optium Museum Acrylic to glaze the frame, giving it an anti-reflective window (which allows you to see all the details). Belinda was very happy with the design. With a talent like hers, we expect we will see more to frame from her as time goes on.

Do you have medals or awards that you want to showcase? Let our framing team design something unique and special for those items. We can incorporate the award and any related items or ephemera. Being in Chicago, for example, we get to do that a bunch for runners who participated in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
