EQ Office Retirement Frame
We were contacted by a team member from the New York EQ Office, the company that manages Willis Tower. they had a team member retiring and they wanted us to create a matted photo of Willis Tower in Chicago (formerly known as Sears Tower when it was first built). They sent us a digital photo file from which we had the print made by our nearby colleague, Mike Chan, at C&L Printing Co. He printed it for us to 40 x 30 and we dry mounted it onto a board to keep it flat. We cut a mat 3" wide and messengered it over to Willis Tower to the EQ office so that they would have it in time for a retirement party for the departing team member. That way, everyone could sign the mat before we completed the framing of the photo with it. We drew a light pencil line 1/4" in from the edge all around so that nobody would have their writing covered up by the lip of the frame. Nearly everyone paid attention to it and it all turned out looking great. We packed it really well and sent it over to the EQ office at Willis Tower where they gave it to the retiree to take with him when he drove out to his new home in Colorado.
The frame is a matte black 1 5/8" wide Larson-Juhl 382285 Tribeca black wood frame. The mat is an Artique 4102 Off-white 4 ply mat with a 3" wide border. The glass is Tru-Vue Premium Clear.
