Memorial Shadowbox for Veteran Grandfather

A client brought in a collection of memorabilia for us to frame that had belonged to her Grandfather, who had served both in the U.S. Army and the Chicago Police Department. She brought us a couple of gloves worn by pall-bearers, along with service patches from both organizations, a photo of her grandfather and a shell casing from the military honors 21-gun salute.

Appropriately-shaped platforms were designed for all the elements, most with 1/2" foam board risers underneath each but recessed to be less visible.

The frame is a Gemini G-3802 matte black with silver edge lines, the glass is Artglass UV museum-style glass and the shadowbox liner is Crescent 5521 Noir black linen. All the gloves and patches were sewn down, the photo was mounted to a mat board platform and the shell casing is held in place by means a of a nearly-invisible clear mylar strap that wraps around it and enters at the back by means of a slit in the bullet-shaped matboard platform to which it is attached.
