Sports Jerseys & Sports Shadowboxes

One of the most popular categories of item that we frame these days is the Sports Jersey. Sports hold a sacred place in our national consciousness, and those who participate in the games have become icons. One representation of those icons is that of their uniform or jersey. Whether it is an original, worn by the actual team member, or a licensed copy that has been autographed by them, people love to devote wall space to this category of sports memorabilia.

A lot of male sports fans collect and frame these jerseys and display them in the "man cave" (basement rec room), while a few restaurants add them to their walls for atmosphere. Whatever your sex or motivation, we can enshrine the garment in a way that evokes all the emotion that goes with them.

Shown here are examples of jerseys that we have framed over the last few years. Some of them are original, some are copies with additional autographs or memorabilia added to the composition. Feel free to contact us for a quotation if you have jerseys that you wish to frame, but please keep the following things in mind when deciding whether or not to frame them:

(1) Jerseys require a fair amount of sewing down and hand work. This takes time, so allocate 3 to 4 weeks for framing them. It is not something we like to do on a rush basis.

(2) The frames into which they are placed need to have a little depth to them, especially if they have additional memorabilia to be included in the frame package. The larger the jersey and/or composition, the stouter the frame needs to be to support the weight of the glass and objects within the frame.

(3) To be done properly, they cannot be done inexpensively. We constantly get calls for "ballpark" pricing on jersey framing projects. They run anywhere from $350 to $750 to start. You will get what you pay for.
