When Dana, our shop manager, had a client come in with a full christening dress to shadowbox frame, she painstakingly picked out an antique satin from Rafael's Fabrics that would show off the dress, but not be too harsh in contrast. The fabric was mounted onto museum board, which is totally acid-free and soft enough to pass a sewing needle through without having to pre-punch holes. She also picked out a Fotiou frame (FT5721AG) that would be deep enough to accomodate the outfit, with blue-gray tones in the paint pattern that harmonized exactly with the fabric. It was a near-perfect match. She lined the shadowbox with the same material on the box strips and carefully sewed down each element with invisible thread. To cap off this treasure, she used Tru-Vue AR anti-reflective glass so that every detail could be seen with no glare. Overall size of the glass is 29 x 39. The client was thrilled!
