Ansley #294 Collection
Larson-Juhl's Ansley #294 Collection is similar in look and shape to the #227 collection. The only real difference is that this profile has a 1 5/8" tall rabbet (the space under the lip of the frame), while the #227 is only 1" under the lip. This makes the #229 profile a true "Shadowbox" depth frame moulding.
In the sample at left, the depth of the moulding has allowed the framer to use multiple mat layers with risers in between mat layers to give a more 3-dimensional look to the composition. While this is not what we typically think of as a "shadowbox" look, it does take advantage of the deep profile of the Ansley #294 frame.
